The 21st Annual Nyingma Monlam, founded by the living manifestation of Padmasambhava, Kyabje Tarthang Rinpoche, is set to run from January 16, 2010 through January 25, 2010. Most of the administrative and logistics crews are already in place, working hard, as the event is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees this year. You can get more details by clicking here. If you plan to go, and you haven't already made travel and lodging arrangements, I don't know what to tell you. In the old days, one could just "show up," and things would work out. However, in today's context, that seems a bit inconsiderate.
I am informed that this year's event is going to witness the largest single donation of dharma books in recorded history. That sort of thing plays havoc with the notion of a "spare room" in B'gaya.

HH Penor Rinpoche's physical presence at the monlam will be sorely missed this year (sheds tear).
