Miss Tibet 2009

Tenzin Choezom, aged 20, of Dharmasala, India, has been crowned Miss Tibet 2009. Maybe I am too old-fashioned, but I feel so sorry for her, I feel so sorry for the Tibetan people, and I feel so sorry for anybody who thinks this sort of thing is (a) useful, or (b) necessary, in the context of a dying culture.

True, true, true. There are "better" (excuse my "dualistic" language) role models.

Tara, Vajrayogini, Yeshe Tsogyal, Yeshe Walmo, Sherab Chamma...

i like the idea that even tibetan girls are competing with the world outside their homeland.when we all think that we tibetans should be encouraged to come forward for any sorts of competition then why leave beauty behind???GOOD GOING GALS KEEP IT UP!!!
