Weekly Tibetan Astrology: January 10 - January 16, 2011

Note: Thursday is positive, but you have to walk an astrological minefield in and out. This is a week when the Iron Tiger will scratch, growl, snarl -- and actually bite. If you can understand the image of "stunned turmoil," then you get the idea. I won't say "shock and awe," but I will say we could experience backlash, perplexing twists and turns -- like a twitching tiger's tail -- and we will lose some people. If you've already grabbed the tiger -- and what practitioner hasn't -- then hold on tight. It is particularly necessary to avoid conflicts, litigation, controversies, or outright argument of any sort. If someone is goading you, do not allow yourself to be drawn in. It is also important to guard your health against sudden illness, or accidental injury -- there is a lot of water on fire, fire on earth this week, so death arising from strife is not out of the question. On Friday, ask Guru Rinpoche to pacify the situation.

January 10, 2011 - Chinese 6th, M-T-K 6th. Ox, Zon, Blue 3. Today we have the duplicate or shadow Ngenpa Gu Dzom, or nine bad omens appearing together. You will recall we did this last month, but since the eleventh month is duplicated, here we go again. It begins at high noon today and continues until high noon tomorrow. Take the day off, go on a picnic in the backyard, and generally take it very light and easy. Unfortunate news is likely.

January 11, 2011 - Chinese 7th, M-T-K 7th. Tiger, Li, Green 4. Today is zin phung. Today is nyi nak. Today is also the shadow Zangpo Chu Dzom, or ten auspicious omens appearing together. It begins at noon today and ends at noon tomorrow. Personally? I would hold off anything until tomorrow morning. Again, take it light and easy. Successful spiritual practice is possible, but stay very close to home. The elements are fighting against us: harm is not only possible but probable. Like numerology? Today is 1/1/11, and if you go out at 1:11, or 11:11, ooh la la.

January 12, 2011 - Chinese 8th, M-T-K 8th. Rabbit, Khon, Yellow 5. Tara Day. Medicine Buddha Day. Zangpo Chu Dzom is in full force and effect until noon, so practice in the morning is strongly emphasized. Try to conserve your energy as much as possible. The Tiger is wearing everybody down.

January 13, 2011 - Chinese 9th, M-T-K 9th. Dragon, Dwa, White 6. Surprises are possible. A strong day of generally positive energy. Government will make itself felt.

January 14, 2011 - Chinese 10th, M-T-K 10th. Snake, Khen, Red 7. Guru Rinpoche Day. Concentrate on Shower of Blessings tonight, at six o'clock, but otherwise? Exercise caution, stick close to home, and be watchful.

January 15, 2011 - Chinese 11th, M-T-K 11th. Horse, Kham, White 8. Mixed signals. Increase possible, but also strife. Walk the razor's edge.

January 16, 2011 - Chinese 12th, M-T-K 12th. Sheep, Gin, Red 9. Some massive earth energy shaping up proximate to tomorrow, so may be felt today or the day after tomorrow. Avoid arguments with members of the opposite sex.

Naga observations for the eleventh month. The best offering days are the 1st, 9th, and 21st lunar. Don't make offerings on the 4th, 5th, 8th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 19th, or 28th.

"Avoid arguments with members of the opposite sex." That goes without saying.
