The much-publicized 2011 visit of the Fourteenth Dalai Lama to Montana, to consecrate the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas project has been cancelled. Montana's KULR Channel 8 is reporting the cancellation was made necessary owing to construction delays.
The project's public relations spokesperson, Deb Hicks, who also maintains the "Garden of 1000 Buddhas and Dalai Lama in Montana 2011" Facebook page, told reporters that a new page, "Garden of 1000 Buddhas and Dalai Lama in Montana 2012" was created, but has only a few hundred followers. This was followed by yet another announcement that the original page had been revised to "Garden of 1000 Buddhas and Dalai Lama in Montana," and the new page erased.
This is an ambitious project that has clearly run into some obstacles. We can sit around in angst, or we can stand up, get busy, and lend a helping hand. The link to the project, given above, should give you all the details.
