"Girl Holding A Rabbit," attributed to William Powell Frith (British, 1819-1909) went on the block at Christie's New York, February 10, 2010. The hammer fell at USD $3,000, which I suppose is good for a Frith. Had I but known of this auction, the bidding would have been so much more spirited.

Frith had much in common with rabbits.
He was married with 12 children and had a mistress who lived close by who he had 7 children with.
Rabbits are not nearly benign as you would have people believe. See Attack of the Killer Rabbit.

How ironic that this painting was by an artist named Frith! "Long ago, the great Frith made the world. He made all the stars, and the Earth lived among the stars.
