So pleased to report that London's own Tashi Mannox -- who over the past couple of years has emerged as the world's foremost Tibetan calligrapher -- was invited to show at the 2009 International Exhibition of Calligraphy in Moscow, October 14th through November 15th. Further details may be had by clicking here.
Tashi comes from a family of talented artists. His father is the gifted silversmith who made Trungpa Rinpoche's magnificent mani wheel, up in Scotland. Tashi continues to delight everyone in the Tibetan community with his innovative approaches, but beyond that, it is my idea that he has almost single-handedly lifted Tibetan calligraphy out of obscurity and placed it at the world-class stage.
His work is simply fantastic, and I would encourage you to visit his gallery.
