Among its other purposes, the Nyingma Monlam Chenmo, founded by Kyabje Tarthang Tulku in 1989, is the yearly culmination of the largest on-going text project in the history of Buddhism.
Last year, Tarthang Rinpoche distributed 350,000 dharma books, the year before 500,000, and during the nineteen years since it first began, he has distributed texts, images, and prayer wheels numbering into the millions. He has also distributed, on a non-sectarian basis, cash grants to Tibetan Buddhist monasteries numbering into the millions of U.S. dollars.
Since the fall of Tibet, in 1959, no other person on the face of the planet has done more or given more... it is an expression of generosity that will stand for all time.
If you want to participate, really the best thing you could do would be to visit this site and watch the video. Then, after you understand the scale of this project, commit yourself to doing something more tangible.
