I see headlines proclaiming that China's new reincarnation law is aimed at the Dalai Lama.
It isn't.
China's new regulations--and China's entire policy--is
aimed squarely at Buddhism.You cannot view each one of China's moves in isolation: you have to examine them as a whole.
Tibet is not the whole of the issue. Take out a map, and note the predominantly Buddhist countries. Next, examine the nature of China's relations with those countries.
It is not a pretty picture.
